Why did Allah take 4 days to create the Earth, and only 2 days to create the whole universe?

You first have to understand that the days are not the normal 24 hours period, besides the sun which we use as reference for calculating our time (24hr day) was only in existence 5 billion years ago, less than half of the age of our universe. The Qur'an define the day it is referring to in

22:47 "Verily a day in the sight of your Lord is like a thousand years of your reckoning"
And
70:4 "The angels and the spirit ascend to him in a day the measure whereof is as fifty thousand years"
Thus the 6 days of Creation God is referring to were Day-Age representing long periods, epoch or eras of evolution.
God further explained the six days in two categories, first
41:12 "So he completed them (heavens) as seven firmament in two day"
From the big bang down to the formation of galaxies and planets took two stages of evolution and
41:10 "And God bestowed blessing on the earth and measured therein all kinds of things to give them nourishment in due proportion in four days"
From the creation of the Earth from the solar dust up to the advent of life on the planet also is divided into four periods, which scientist call the geological periods namely PRECAMBRIAN, PALEOZOIC, MESOZOIC AND CENEZOIC era's. If you add the two days of Creation from big bang to the formation of planetary system (the 2 days) with the 4 days of Creation on earth you got total of 6 days that spanned 13/17 billion years estimated to be the beginning of our present universe
